36 pays ont participé aux Concours Nationaux. 200 finalistes ont atteint le Concours International.
D’une portée mondiale, le programme YRE attire un intérêt croissant. Les travaux récompensés sont le reflet des meilleures propositions. Cette année encore, le jury a été très impressionné par la qualité de ce que les jeunes ont envoyé, tant par le choix des sujets traités, des compétences d’investigation et de journalisme de leurs auteurs, que par les réflexions autour des objectifs de développement durable.
Un mot sur la Slovaquie et Malte qui ont reçu le plus grand nombre de prix et sur des mentions d’honneur décernées à des nouveaux pays participants comme l’Afrique du Sud, la Belgique et Porto Rico.
« Les jeunes mènent la lutte pour le climat et l’environnement, et les contributions de la JRE le prouvent ! Ils font preuve d’une grande passion pour dénoncer les dommages causés à l’environnement à travers l’écriture, la photo et la vidéo, et pour prendre des mesures pour changer les choses. L’avenir du journalisme et de l’activisme environnementaux est tout à fait sûr » déclare Anna Pérez Catala, co-directrice de Climate Tracker et membre du jury de YRE.
