Hello Little! Today we are meeting to talk about the biodiversity island project that has been in the works for several months now.
In spring 2022, Maud submitted this project to the town hall of Frouzins (31) as part of a participatory budget. The forest will be planted on a 200m2 plot in the Haute-Garonne commune. The plot of land provided by the town hall will be home to the 200 tree seedlings supplied by the association Arbres et Paysages d'Autan from March 2023. Around twenty endemic species (better adapted to local climatic conditions and terrain) of different heights (multi-strata) will be planted to encourage the creation of an island of biodiversity. You will thus find hawthorns, flat maples, plum trees and wild apple trees, the latter being particularly interesting for attracting birds. The soil will be amended (with biodegradable mulch) so that the island will require as little watering as possible and will become self-sufficient over a period of 3 years.
If you want to take part in this project, you can help in phase 3. Please contact us so that we can send you all the necessary information in March.
