Hello, my name is Eva, I'm 17 years old, and I'm in Year 13 at the Lycée Bellevue, in the suburbs of Toulouse, France.
I became interested in climate change and ecology when entering high school. Last year I joined the school's Conseil de Vie Étudiante as an eco-delegate. We have managed to introduce paper and cardboard sorting, with dedicated sorting bins and specific collections, which unfortunately was not done before.
For me, reducing our digital footprint is a very important thing, so we have several projects in mind to make our massive use of the internet less polluting, including choosing a more environmentally friendly search engine for the school computers.
We are also trying to change our consumption patterns in the cafeteria by fighting against waste, reusing waste and perhaps introducing a vegetarian meal, or a week of 100% organic and/or local products.
I think it is important to raise awareness of ecological issue as much as possible, because it is this change in mentality and small gestures made at our level, which will become automatic and will allow us to reduce our consumption and slow down climate change.
Eva
